Family and friends are celebrating the life of beloved Lenard L. Jensen. The family patriarch passed quietly at Multi Care (Good Samaritan) on the evening of June 15, 2017 surrounded by his children and family. Lenard was born August 2, 1933 to Peter Jens Jensen and Isabell Ann Hiller in Sanburn, North Dakota. His is preceded in death by beloved wife Janice, parents, brother Earl, and sister Lorraine Elberg. Lenard attended Puyallup Schools and graduated in 1952. In 1953 he married High School sweetheart Janice C. Lindquist. They lived in Puyallup and raised three children during their 39 year marriage. Lenard worked at Fiberboard in Sumner while starting his own Jensen Construction. He built many spec. and custom homes in the Pierce County area, assuredly his proudest accomplishments. In later years, he retired from Boeing. Lenard was an accomplished fisherman, hunter and car enthusiast. He could often be found weekends dancing and dining with special friend Bonnie Carson at the Tacoma and Puyallup Eagles. When relaxing he would enjoy a good ol' "Western" movie. Lenard is blessed with three children; Debra (Rich) Gilmore, Richard B. Jensen, Michael (Cathy) Jensen, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many special members of the Welch family. He will be remembered and missed by many. "Between now and then, till I see you again, I'll be loving you, love me" (Collin Raye "If You Get There Before I Do") Funeral service will be Thursday June 22 at 3:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup. He will join wife Janice at Woodbine Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a gathering at the Storehouse Church, 1015 N. Meridian in Puyallup immediately following the service at the funeral home. Much appreciation to ER, hospital and critical care staff.
